There are many of us going to festivals, jumping from stage to stage, seeing one band after another, trying to remember which was the best group, what were the best songs, what surprised us with each concert, what new bands we have discovered.
I’ve always wondered what happens to the bands that come to these festivals; how they spend the rest of the time that they are not on stage. If they come by plane like a rock star or go in a van, if they are entertained with delicacies in the dressing rooms, if they are stopped every two steps to sign autographs, if they stay the entire festival to see the other bands, etc.
Muchos somos los que vamos a festivales, saltando de escenario en escenario, viendo a una banda tras otra, tratando de recordar cuál fue el mejor grupo, cuales fueron los mejores temas, qué nos sorprendió de cada concierto, a qué nuevas bandas hemos descubierto.
Siempre me he preguntado qué pasa con los grupos que vienen a estos festivales, en qué emplean el resto del tiempo que no dedican a la hora y poco que están encima del escenario. Si vienen en avión a lo rock star o van en furgoneta, si son agasajados con manjares en los camerinos, si son parados cada dos pasos a firmar autógrafos, si se quedan todo el festival a ver al resto de grupos, etc.
To answer these questions, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to experience it first-hand twith La Habitación Roja, which performed on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28, 2018 on the tenth anniversary of the Low Festival.
It has been almost 24 hours since we left, with his van, from the rehearsal room in La Eliana (Valencia) on Friday at 17:30 until we arrived on Saturday, at the same time. Meanwhile, two concerts (one on Friday at 1.15am on the Matusalem stage for thousands of people and another on Saturday at 2pm on the Vip Pool stage, for a small group of guests), hours of waiting, some nerves, conversations about children, vacations and tax obligations… songs by Iron Maiden, Mecano or Templeton.
Para responderme a estas preguntas, he tenido la suerte de poder vivirlo de primera mano gracias a La Habitación Roja, que tocó el viernes 27 y sábado 28 de Julio de 2018 en el décimo aniversario del Low Festival.
Han sido 24 horas casi exactas desde que salimos, con su furgoneta, del local de ensayo en La Eliana (Valencia) el viernes sobre las 17,30 hasta que llegamos el sábado, a la misma hora. Entre tanto, dos conciertos (uno el viernes a la 1,15h en el escenario Matusalem para miles de personas y otro el sábado a las 14h en el escenario Vip Pool, para un grupo reducido de invitados), horas de espera, algunos nervios, conversaciones sobre hijos, vacaciones y obligaciones tributarias… canciones de Iron Maiden, Mecano o Templeton.
